Paul with puppy Green

Paul was born in a small town in Illinois (Woodstock). It was not so small that everyone there knew everyone else, but at times it did seem like it. Paul grew up in Woodstock, where he met his wife (Sue). Paul and Sue were married by a Justice of the Peace at the County Court House in Woodstock.

They have two children, a daughter Karen, and a son Fred. Both of their children were born in Woodstock where the family lived until 1986. They moved to Arizona to get away from the cold, and found Mesa to be the place that they wanted to stay.

Paul has had many jobs, both in Illinois and Arizona. Paul has also been in business for himself. Along with owning his own home inspection business Paul currently works for a large home improvement store in Mesa, Az. where he is an appliance sales associate.

His children are grown and on their own. He has two granddaughters, Andrea and Amber. With the children grown and the house empty, Paul and Sue became more involved in animal rescue. They fostered for a Golden Retriever rescue group and quickly found themselves to be the owners of two extra large Golden Retrievers named Comet and Bro.

Through their involvement with the rescue organization Paul and Sue later became the foster family for a puppy known as Green. Green inspired Paul to write his first book, (The Puppy Who Refuse To Die). Paul says, I tell it through him, or he tells it through me. Actually, I am not really certain who was telling who. Paul's first book, The Puppy Who Refused To Die was released in July of 2008. The book contains black text and full color puppy pictures.

After attending classes and serving an apprenticeship for home inspection Paul opened an inspection business. Paul's company Can Do Home Inspections Inc. in Mesa, Arizona has been in business since 2003. The two most frequently asked questions Paul recieved from his clients and the real estate agents he worked with were What do you inspect on the home?, and, What do you look for during your inspections? As a way of answering these questions Paul put together a list of items that he would inspect. He then added to these items a set of guidelines that he would use during his inspections. As He put all this together he realized that his list had grown to the size of a small book. What had started out simply as (list of inspected items) now was renamed. The book (Understanding A Home Inspection) was created with the intention of providing a basic understanding of the home inspection process. Understanding A Home Inspection was released in April of 2009.

In early 2009 Paul started on a project with his grandaughters, Amber and Andrea who were then six and eight years of age. They had asked if they could write a book. Paul and Amber worked together to tell the story of a girl named Amber and a puppy named Green that each needed nebulizer treatments to help them breathe. Andrea created the illustrations that are used in the book and on the cover. Working together Paul, Amber and Andrea created a book titled (Amber And Green and The Breathing Machine). Amber And Green and The Breathing Machine was released in November of 2009.

Late in 2009 (The Puppy Who Refused To Die) was reformatted. Under the new format the full color puppy pictures were changed to shades of gray. Along with the grayscale pictures (The Puppy Who Refused To Die) recieved a name change. The new title (Green, A Story Of Animal Rescue) was released in January of 2010.
